As I mentioned in my last post, my wedding planning and design business is hitting the ground running! In the beginning of my branding journey, Ashley from Ashley & Malone , asked me a very important question…
“Why do you want to start your business?”
To give brides a truly original experience that is customized in every way so that their day is deliciously unforgettable by all! But really, it goes much deeper than that…
There are a couple of things in life you can’t recover… the occasion after it’s missed and the time after it’s gone. I’ve planned every major party and event in my life completely by my myself up until recently. The parties were one-of-a-kind. The guests had fun. The food was great (and homemade – I also love to bake, but more about that later). But when I look back, some of my most prominent memories are of setting up, running around making sure the program was on track, worrying about the many things that could go wrong…
… of being the PARTY PLANNER! Which is how I found out I absolutely love what I do. But if that’s not your passion? Maybe you should hand that job over. Not because you can’t do it, but because you might not really enjoy your own party. And really, isn’t that what life is all about? Enjoying! I truly wish and strive for that for all of my clients. It’s not just about the pretty flowers, the perfectly matching outfits and linen, the beautiful lighting and atmosphere, the personal touches that tell the story, and the perfectly timed program (don’t get me wrong – those things are totally awesome in my book and I am all for a party your guests will be talking about FOREVER), but it’s also about the memories created for the guests-of-honor themselves… YOU!
When you look back on your wedding, I want you to wake up fresh and enjoy the company of your best girlfriends with a glass of mimosa in your hand (not running around sweaty to set out favors). I want you to remember the excitement of seeing the look on your soon-to-be-husband’s face as he see’s your for the first time as his bride (not worrying if the insert-vendor-of-choice showed up). I want you to focus on walking with grace and poise and making sure to connect with your guests as you walk down the aisle (not peeking down the hall to tell the musicians to switch to your processional). I want you to to enjoy the delicious and original delicacies that you’ve meticulously chosen for all your guests (not stealing a few bites and then running to prep the mc on a small change to the program). I could go on, but well, you get the point.
Hire a professional. In return, you’re getting gorgeous design and customization, piece of mind, beautiful memories, and a new friend (ahem – me!).
